Shayn moved to NY at the age of 20 to pursue modeling. After being scouted, she went to Miami for a season with Wilhelmina, then she joined Elite Models in Los Angeles. Shortly after arriving in LA, Shayn was introduced to an acting coach through a friend. "I had no expectations, I was just curious and wanted to see what it was about." Right away she fell in love with acting. "I started independently auditioning and booking short films."

After 2 years of training and missing NY, she packed up and moved back to the Big Apple. "I saw an increase in shows filming in NY. It's where my professional life began and where I feel most at home."
